Teacher of Science
Role: Science Teacher

PACA is expanding. Next year we will see an additional 160 students in our school and we are seeking new staff to join our team to provide the same high quality learning experience that have brought PACA its rising popularity.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of science to teach across the school to GCSE level. We are looking for candidates with a passion for their chosen subject. Applications from NQTs are welcome.

Clerk to Governors
Role: Clerk to Governors
Salary: £17.04 per hour (approx. £3,000 per annum)

Portslade Aldridge Community Academy and our sister academy Brighton Aldridge Community Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clerk to the Governors to provide advice to the Governing Body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.
There will be a total of twelve meetings per academic year – six at PACA and six at BACA.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:-
- Preparation, typing and distribution of agendas and associated paperwork
- Accurate taking of and typing of minutes at Governor meetings as well as any working parties
- Maintaining accurate records of the Governing Body and its membership
- Attending half termly clerk briefings
- Advising the Governing Body on procedural issues, legal responsibilities and constitutional matters
- Policy preparation, maintenance, and distribution to staff and Governors
Knowledge of how schools and governing bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work.

Role: Science Technician
Required: 1 September 2019
37 hours per week term time only.
Salary: SCP 7 £19,554 per annum fte, pro-rata £16,786
PACA is a forward thinking, innovative and dynamic new academy sponsored by the Aldridge Foundation. The Academy has developed exciting partnerships with The University of Sussex and The Royal Institution.
Reporting to the Head of Science, this role requires a responsible and meticulous individual to prepare science materials and equipment for students.
At a basic level this role includes collecting apparatus and chemicals from storage, preparing necessary solutions and disposing of waste materials safely. Working on a wider scale with the STEM Manager and the Science Department you will also be required to observe COSHH and Health and Safety guidelines in all aspects of your day to day tasks.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and dynamic programme of learning aimed at developing skills and practices that will enable the Scientists, Engineers and Mathematicians of tomorrow.
