At PACA we have many tools that parents and carers can use to communicate with the Academy including the Parent’s Evening Booking SystemParent Pay, Xpressions App, and the Parent Lite App.

Parents Evening Booking System


Instructions on how to book

  • Navigate to the Parents’ Evening Booking System here.
  • Use your personal information to log in. You must use the contact information which the school has on file or you will not be able to log in. If you are having problems, please use the contact information on the login page to contact the school.
  • Log in by selecting which child you want to make bookings for first. If you have more than one child who requires bookings, you can switch between them once you are logged in.
  • Once logged in, decide whether you need to make bookings individually, or using our Automated Booking Wizard (best if you have a number of bookings and students to make bookings for).
  • Once you have selected your preferred booking method and once in the correct parents’ evening, follow the relevant instructions from below:
    1. Individual Bookings:
      1. Scroll down until you see the booking table. Above it are the departments and teachers which are available to you.
      2. Select the department, then teacher, and click on an available time to make a booking. When you selected a time, you’re able to add any issues or comments for the teacher to take note of before the appointment.
      3. Repeat this process, making bookings for all of the teachers you need to.
      4. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, click on the correct department and teacher, then click on the green appointment to change it.
      5. If you need to make bookings for another child, scroll to the top of the page. In the top left corner you should see a ‘Make a Booking for Another Child’ icon. Click this. If there is no icon, the software does not recognise that you have multiple children. This just means that you’ll need to log out and log back in again using the other child’s details.
      6. Once you have made all of your bookings, click on either E-Mail or Print my Appointments. Appointments are saved when they are made, so you don’t have to e-mail or print to ‘save’ them, but doing so will provide a confirmation with further information, possibly including rooms and instructions from the school.
    2. Automated Booking Wizard
      1. Select the teacher you wish to book. You can press ‘Select All’ to select all options
      2. If you have a second child to make bookings for then select their tab and repeat the teacher selecting process
      3. Proceed to the bottom of the page and specify your personal availability, then press Make My Bookings For Me
        1. If the wizard replies that bookings are not feasible, you have not left enough time and need tp reduce the number of teachers or increase the amount of time you’re available.
      4. Now see a list of your booking suggestions. Feel free to add comments to teachers you wish to book, if allowed
      5. Press Confirm to confirm these appointments as your bookings
      6. Press Print or E-Mail to initiate your confirmation.


Parent Pay is an online tool that enables parents or carers to load up money onto a student ID card. This can then be used to purchase food whilst in school or to pay for school trips, for example.

Cashless Catering

We are no longer accepting cash at the tills in the Academy restaurant, Oasis. This will make the queues for food at break and lunch quicker, thereby giving students longer to eat and to socialise. Money can either be loaded online using ParentPay or via the machines located around school.

Groupcall Xpressions

We are delighted to inform parents and carers about an app which will enhance communication between you and the school.


You will be aware that the school uses a program called GroupCall to communicate with parents.  This program includes an app called Xpressions which allows two-way communication between parents and carers and the school for no charge.  The text and email functions will still be operational but the app can be used at no cost to you or the school. It is necessary for you to install the Xpressions App on your smart phone or tablet.

What will it show me?

Once installed and set up you will be able to see the following information and messages sent by the school delivered directly to the app, and you can also reply to selected messages free of charge.

  • Attendance records and absences
  • Timetable
  • School Term Calendar
  • Achievement records
  • Newsletters and bulletins

What do I need to do now?

Download the Groupcall Xpressions App to your smartphone or tablet.

  1. Open the Play Store or Apple Store on your device
  2. Search for and download the GroupCall Xpressions App
  3. Log in using the email address and mobile phone number that you registered with the school
  4. You will receive a verification code to your mobile phone number
  5. Enter the verification code when prompted
  6. Set up your password

I can’t log in still

If your email address or mobile phone number do not match those registered with the Academy you will not be able to login. If this happens, complete the contact form available from PACA reception or email the Academy directly on or You’ll need to make sure you keep these details up to date in future to maintain access to the service.


Show my Homework is a web-based application that we use here at PACA, to set and record homework. Teachers set homework through Show my Homework, either to be completed through the website, Google Classroom, or to be handed in through lesson.

Students login with their school credentials, whilst Parents can set up accounts using their Parent pin code they have been provided with by the school.

Student Login

  • Go to
  • Click on the Student tab
  • Search for the school – Portslade Aldridge Community Academy
  • Enter username – This will be the username you use to log onto the school PCs. i.e. J.Smith20
  • Enter Password – This will be the same password you use to log onto the school PCs.

Please note that you will need to have logged into the school PCs and changed your password for the first time before being able to log into Show my Homework.

Parent Login

If you have already created an account:

  • Click the ‘I already have an account’ option
  • Search for the school – Portslade Aldridge Community Academy
  • Enter the Email address and password you have set up.

If you have not created an account:

  • Click the ‘I don’t have an account yet’ option
  • Search for the school – Portslade Aldridge Community Academy
  • Enter your email address you’d like to use
  • Enter the parent pin that you have been provided by the school

It will then go through some setup information for you to create an account and access your child’s homework.
