My interests are to enhance the educational experience of pupils, the inspiration and potential of teachers and the collaboration of parents.
I taught Geography at secondary and sixth form level for 21 years in Hackney and Islington, London, before being appointed to the University of Sussex as a Geography PGCE tutor in 2003. Since 2006 my responsibilities widened to include school partnerships for all PGCE programmes, the PGCE (Pedagogy & Practice) designed to support SCITT Schools Direct programmes, the Diploma in Developing Research Leadership in Schools and the MA Education (part-time). I also served as an elected staff senator for three years before retiring in October 2020. I remain connected to the University as an associate senior lecturer in Education. I have served as a school governor before, as elected parent at Belmont school Haringey and BHASVIC in Brighton, as well as a local authority governor for Hertford Junior School, Brighton.

STAFF GOVERNOR
Victoria Orchin
My eight years at PACA, and living within our catchment, place me in a good position from which to advocate for the best interests of the communities that form PACA.
First as a middle leader and subsequently as a member of the senior team, leading teaching and learning, I gained experience in working strategically alongside PACA’s governing body and the MAT. As part of this team, I undertook academy evaluation and developed policy. I was also employed as a Challenge Partners reviewer, in which capacity I supported other schools. I will add value through incisive thinking; promoting reflection and challenging questioning.
Appointing Body: Aldridge Education
Committees & Responsibilities: Staff Governor
Term of Office: 01 March 2021 to
