PACA is a community academy.

We host a variety of services and facilities for our wider community and aim to play a positive and important role in the area.

We have an active Parents’ Forum which meet once per half term to discuss matters of academy development. We are keen for as many parents to attend this as possible as it provides an essential form of feedback to help the school improve.

Mile Oak Library shares the facilities of the Academy Library, offering a full range of services provided by Brighton & Hove Library Services. Please see the Library page in this section for details of Opening Times and activities.

Portslade Sports Centre is open 7 days a week to community users. Please see their page in this section.
PACA has close links with our feeder primary schools and we offer a mix of in and out of school support. Several of the local primary schools use our facilities for plays and larger events.
We host a number of activities year round where children come in to PACA to use the Stem Centre or the MAC suite for example. We sometimes invite several schools in at once such as for our inter primary school Sports Day.

Our staff work closely with the primary school staff to identify areas where we can work together to
improve educational outcomes.

The schools in Portslade are working hard to improve the educational outcomes for all children in Portslade by working together.

School leaders and staff believe they are stronger together, rather than working separately. The ten schools now working as part of the Portslade Partnership of Schools are: St Peter’s Community Primary School; Hillside School, Downs Park School, Peter Gladwin Primary School; St Nicolas C of E Primary School, St Mary’s RC Primary School, Mile Oak Primary School; Brackenbury Primary School, Benfield Primary School and PACA.

The school also makes the most of its entrepreneurial specialism with small business hubs and facilities on site. If you are interested in renting one of the hubs or offering some work experience or enrichment to our students please get in touch.
We also support as many community activities and events as we can. Please contact Mr Flynn via for more information.
