Community
PACA is a community academy.
We host a variety of services and facilities for our wider community and aim to play a positive and important role in the area.
We have an active Parents’ Forum which meet once per term to discuss matters of academy development. We are keen for as many parents to attend this as possible as it provides an essential form of feedback to help the school improve.
Portslade Sports Centre is open 7 days a week to community users. Please see their page in this section.
PACA has close links with our feeder primary schools and we offer a mix of in and out of school support. Several of the local primary schools use our facilities.
Our staff work closely with the primary school staff to identify areas where we can work together to
improve educational outcomes. For example Art workshops with Y6 students at PACA and primary visits to PACA Library.
The schools in Portslade are working hard to improve the educational outcomes for all children in Portslade by working together.
School leaders and staff believe they are stronger together, rather than working separately. The ten schools now working as part of the Portslade Partnership of Schools are: St Peter’s Community Primary School; Hillside School, Downs Park School, Peter Gladwin Primary School; St Nicolas C of E Primary School, St Mary’s RC Primary School, Mile Oak Primary School; Brackenbury Primary School, Benfield Primary School and PACA.
