At PACA, we have very high expectations of you in terms of behaviour, uniform, attendance, punctuality and homework, as well as achievement.
Attendance and Punctuality
To achieve success it is important you attends school every day. Tutor time starts promptly at 8.30 am and we expect everyone to be in lessons punctually so that all students get the most out of lesson time.
We believe that everyone has the right to learn in a safe, calm and purposeful environment. We do not allow anyone to disrupt teaching and learning for others. This extends to the time outside lessons where we also expect every member of our community to behave in a way that is respectful of each other and our environment. This ranges from moving around the academy in an orderly way, to zero tolerance of bullying or swearing and making sure there is no litter or graffiti around the school.
We believe uniform develops pride in being a PACA student and creates a sense of belonging to each School. Local residents regularly tell us how smart our students look and how well behaved they are outside the academy. We expect you to wear the full and correct uniform at all times, including to and from school. .
Jewellery must be kept a minimum for health and safety purposes. You are permitted to wear:
- A wrist watch
- One ring
- One necklace or chain (hidden under clothing)
- One pair of stud earrings – no loops
- We don’t allow any facial piercings – students must remove them before coming into the Academy please.
Hair and Make-Up
Hair must be a natural colour with no extreme styles.
You can wear a small amount of discrete make-up. False eye lashes, nail varnish and false nails are not permitted
You may bring a mobile phone to the Academy but phones and other electrical devices cannot be used during the school day, including and during tutor time.
If your parents or carer need to send you a non urgent message they can text you and you can pick up the message outside of school time. In an emergency they should contact you via Student Services on 01273 416300.
Please take good care of your possessions, clothes and money in school, as the Academy will not accept liability for any claim arising from theft, accidental loss or damage to their personal effects, money, belongings or clothing whilst you are on Academy premises.
You will be set regular homework. Homework helps develop individual learning skills and helps extend and embed what you have learned in class. It is good practice for you to do some homework each school day if possible, rather than letting it pile up. If you find your homework is taking too long to complete please talk to your form tutor.
