Good attendance and punctuality are vital aspects of school life at PACA. We expect every student to attend school every day to reach their full potential. Attending school regularly and being on time are vital to your child doing well at school and will set them up with good routines for later life and the working world.
The school day starts at 8.30 am so students need to be in their tutor group at this time.
If students arrive late they need to sign in at the Student Services Office so we know they are in school and collect a late slip to take to their first lesson. If your child is going to be absent or late, please contact Student Services by 9am.
When your child is absent:
By law, schools must record absences and the reasons given.
Whenever a child is absent from school, the parent/carer should contact the school before 9.00 am each day the child is absent.
- Telephone 01273 416300 before 9 am
- Tell us in person at reception before 9 am
- Email – firstname.lastname@example.org before 9 am
The Academy will not authorise any holiday requests during term time.
Absence and the Law
Attendance at school is a legal obligation. As a parent/carer, you are committing an offence if you fail to make sure your child attends school regularly. Details of unauthorised or persistent absence are passed to Brighton and Hove City Council and they may issue you with a penalty notice which can lead to a court appearance.
