The Football Academy is open to both male and female players with training programmes individually tailored to suit the needs of the individual, delivered by a dedicated coaching team including specialist coaches in the fields of Strength and Conditioning.
Our post 16 study programmes integrate with the Football Academy training and development blocks. This gives students the chance to develop their sporting talent and academic qualifications together, rather than having to choose between the two, or having to deal with conflicting training and college work schedules.
• Allow players to develop their football skills alongside their academic qualifications
• Develop the wide range of skills required to be successful at the highest level in football
• Introduce players to different environments and cultures through trips and tours
• Forge strong links with local and national clubs and organisations to provide players with clear and appropriate pathways
Every student will experience a comprehensive training and playing programme with a range of
components including technical, tactical, psychological and coach education elements. The programme is designed to help maximise the potential of every player regardless of their ability or playing aspirations.
The methods used and the techniques taught are endorsed by the Sussex County FA.
The players will undertake a thorough programme based on skill and tactical development, strength and conditioning, competitive matches and nonplaying opportunities such as officiating and coaching. The Football Academy programme aims to provide the students with a far-reaching experience of a number of career pathways within the sport.
Competitions and Fixtures
There is a full fixture list against some of the leading schools in Sussex in both League and Cup
competitions. PACA and our sister Academy in Brighton, BACA, have junior academies with regular
inter-house competitions, where the Football Academy students have the opportunity to hone
leadership and organisational skills as they help run and officiate at these events.
Through our extensive contacts, the Football Academy will arrange trips and tours, giving the
students the opportunity to broaden their skills in new environments and cultures.
Links to Local Clubs
Sussex County FA is a key partner of the Football Academy.
The Academy has established strong links with many local clubs and representative teams to assist in providing the appropriate playing opportunities to complement the training programme.
“I have been coaching for over 15 years and see this role at PACA as a chance to share my skills, abilities and experiences with upcoming players as well as playing an important role in developing an individual player’s skills and ability levels. I also work as first team coach at Burgess Hill FC and head up the club’s youth development programme. I also oversee and coach at Brighton University in the men’s football programme based at the university’s Eastbourne site. I am excited by the challenge of coaching at PACA and am looking forward to building and adding to the excellent foundation already set up at the academy.”
