Dear Parents and Carers
I’d like to begin by thanking the students, parents, staff and guests who made the awards evening such a great evening. We were very lucky to have Peter Kyle MP join us. He spoke inspiringly about his own career through education which required unprecedented levels of perseverance as he battled to overcome his own initial lack of qualifications. His message: “a little effort in school saves a lot of time later on” and “life is long so never give up”. Look out for the news article this week where we will present a few of the photos from the evening.
Last week saw a range of activities for anti-bullying week. Mr Flynn writes:
“This year’s theme was ‘Choose Respect’. In assemblies, students were given a random act of kindness ‘Pass it Forward’ cards, with the cards they were encouraged to do something nice and pass on their cards throughout the week to other students and staff. Students were also encouraged to design their very own anti-bullying t-shirts at break and lunch time in the Hub. The winning designs will be printed on their very own t-shirt. Watch this space…”
