Dear Parents and Carers
So, to the end of term message.
First – a thank you to staff, parents, students for making this term, my first term at PACA such a great experience.
Thank you in particular to parents for being with the school at parents forum, the various events through the term and at parents evening. It is great to have such an engaged group of parents, and particular thanks to those parents who having given me some stories of great things that they have seen our students doing. It is wonderful to give this feedback to students in our assemblies.
Second – a key reminder. We finish on Wednesday at 1.10pm and we start again on Monday 7 January at the normal time of 8.30am. Have a great break!
Third – one event this week which is Year 7 parents evening on Tuesday 18 December.
A big thank you for the main event of last week which was the Winter Showcase which involved a huge number of students and staff in an extravaganza of song, music, dance and acting. Thank you to everyone for making it such a joyful evening.
This term we say goodbye to four members of staff:
Mr Dollner of the football academies has sought pastures new. I am delighted to say that in the short term, our excellent PE department will continue to support our Junior Football Academy students with Burgess Hill Town Football Club supporting our 6th form Football Academy Students.
Ms Lloyd, part of our MFL team is moving to new challenges in the Brighton and Hove area.
Mrs Collinge who has been doing sterling work supporting the school with its data management is moving back to Shropshire, and I am pleased to say that we have the support of our multi-academy trust data manager who will continue her work and further strengthen our school reporting systems.
Miss Rombough, one of our LSAs who worked for us two days a week is also moving to pastures new.
Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA) is a co-educational school for 11 to 18 year olds based in the heart of the Mile Oak Community in Portslade, Brighton.
PACA’s motto is ‘Unlocking Potential’ and we are committed to unlocking the full potential in our students and staff.
