Dear Parents and Carers
Happy New Year and welcome back to a new school term. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and, now rested, we are ready for the next term. For our exam years, this term is the critical last term of revision ahead of the summer term of exams. For other years, we have exams at the start of this term (week commencing 14 January) for years 7, 8 and 9. For Year 10, we have another round of GCSE style exams commencing on 28 January.
Key events for this term are the Parents Forum on 24 January and Year 8 Parents Evening on 12 February. Friday 15 February will be an INSET day.
We are currently in discussion with the Aldridge Education Trust about possible changes to the school day and the timing of options. I will write to you again in the next week to outline any changes for next year which will take affect when students make choices for their GCSEs.
For now I would like to leave you with one of the high points from last year, the Christmas video that was created for the Aldridge Education Christmas Musical competition. Despite not being winners, we are immensely proud of our students, production team and musical stars in this video. For those of us at the Christmas Showcase, we all enjoyed this then, and for those who were not so fortunate, I include a YouTube link here so you can see it.
