Throughout your time at PACA you will have access to regular information, advice and guidance to help you plan your next steps after leaving the academy. This year 100% of our students successfully secured their first choice preference to over 20 different universities across the UK
Some of our students choose to apply for university. The academy will help you with preparing your UCAS application and encourage you to attend Open Days to help you find the course that is right for you.
We have close working relationships with Sussex and Brighton Universities and students and their parents and carers are offered opportunities to find out about university life either in school, or by visiting the local campus. There are also several opportunities to meet up with current students and find out more about the courses you are interested in. There are also taster sessions and summer schools.
Other students may decide they want to move into employment in which case the academy will help you with identifying and applying for the right job for you. Many employment opportunities now also offer continued education and training via apprenticeships and we have links with many apprenticeship providers if that is the route you prefer.
Some of our students want to move on from the specialist academies into the same specialism for their career and part of the time at the specialist academies is spent helping you to build a useful network of contacts to help find your next role in your chosen field.
A few of our students are interested in setting up their own business or working as freelancers. We have business pods and some on site support to help students get started, as well as a network of alumni and other contacts to help find an appropriate mentor.
The academy’s entrepreneurial specialism and ongoing focus on building a portfolio of evidence of skills and attributes beyond your academic qualifications, alongside a variety of enrichment activities, puts students in good stead to be successful in whichever path you choose.
